Virtual Islands: Half-Moon Island
Okay...I should have known.
For the record there is a Half-Moon Island in the Bahamas, too.
I've actually been there.
It looks like this.
Yeah...this isn't that one.
When I started reading this morning the first sentence was:
"Halfmoon is barren, remote and has an almost tangible feeling of cold eeriness to it."
Uh...no...
WTF???
Lovegrove, where have you dragged us off to, NOW?
Lovegrove's Half-Moon is tucked between Greenwich and Livingstone just off the coastline of freaking Antarctica, okay?
And looks like THIS
I can see the confusion...
This
75 degrees, sugar white sand, turquoise blue waters and a rum drink with an umbrella.
Or THIS
Currently 28 degrees for the high...steel gray skies and water...fucking permafrost...snow and penguins. And a VAST godforsaken frozen wasteland.
Must be EASY to confuse one for the other.
(...I haven't decided if Lovegrove is a sadist or a masochist...)
But here we are...bundle up...let's check it out...
Look...penguins.
And snow...
And Chinstrap Penguins in the SNOW!
Hard to believe it is completely uninhabited, right???
Who would have thought?
Okay...maybe a few Weddell Seals.
Otherwise, he has taken us to the frozen armpit of the world.
"Don't blame me...Steve lost the damned map...this doesn't look anything like the Bahamas..."

And we have only 5 islands left.
(...by now you are probably adding- Thank God...)
Surely one of them will be better...
Next up: Great Skelling
