The Season 6 Finale of Game of Thrones

All right...you have ALL had nearly a full week to watch it.  If you haven't yet, turn away now...

Outstanding Finale.

Tied up a lot of loose ends.  Killed off quite a few more major characters. Revealed Jon's true lineage. Jilted Dany's lover. Showed us Tryon would be back next Season. The Boltons, The Freys and The Tyrells lineages...gone.  And we're starting to run short of Lannister's as well. Got Bron that threesome he always wanted. Who could ask for more, eh?

So...Maester Pycelle  was pretty much the first to go. After leaving a prostitute without paying her. Class act. Stabbed to death in a kind of Lord of The Flies frenzy by Vary's (now Cersi and Company's) "Little Birds". Out with the old in with the new. One of whom knew exactly where to slip a knife in the High Sparrow's Enforcer's spine in order to make both of his legs instantly useless in the tunnels. The tunnels where the Wildfire was kept...green and oozing...with three votives burning down in their midst.

In a great burst of Stephen King Green flames with Cersi raising a toast from The Red Keep we lost Queen Margery, The High Sparrow and all his Zealots, Margery's Brother Loras and her Father. Also, The Sept of Baelor, quite a bit of the surrounding area, and several townsfolk.

Shortly thereafter we watched King Tommen do a high dive from the tower. The King is Dead. Long live the King...er...Queen?

We watched Septa Unella tortured first by Cersi (confess...confess...confess)...then handed off to The Mountain" Gregor Clegane and raped.  (shame....shame...shame) Yes...they have now officially raped a Nun on HBO. Where do you go from there?

Sam finally made it to the Citadel with his small family in tow...only to find the front desk guy who was a dead ringer for any trip to the BMV you have ever made in your life.

The Freys and Lannisters celebrated their victory over Riverrun and The Blackfish though Jamie Lannister made it quite clear how little regard he held for Lord Frey.  He could have saved his breath. Soon Arya Stark reappears and dispatches (slit throat) not only Lord Frey but both of his sons (who she baked into a meat pie and served to him first) Cannibalism at its finest.  Goodbye House Frey.

And Bran Stark (who is now The Three Eyed Raven) got to see what was really in that tower...and solved the question of Jon Snow's Lineage.  Lyanna Stark and Rhaeygar Targaryen's bouncing baby boy she entrusted to Ned as she lay dying. Jon is both a Stark and a Targaryen! Now there's a bloodline for you :)

Although Bron got his knob polished by two "easy on the eyes" wenches at the Frey Lannister Feast of Victory (compliments of Jamie Lannister), Littlefinger and Dario both got huge brush-offs by the Mother of Dragons and Sansa Stark.  Lord Balish...did you REALLY think that you were going to turn to Sansa and wind upon the Iron Throne THAT easily? Dario...face it...you were just eye candy, a good time, and a sword.
Ciao, babe.

Dany proclaimed Tyrion Lannister "Hand of the Queen" which was a nice touch letting us all know he will be back next season. I love it when Tyrion gets vulnerable, and the scene about him believing in Stormborn was touching.  Loved him several episodes back when he was getting nostalgic about wanting a dragon for his birthday as a child.

"It wouldn't even have to be a big dragon...it could be a little one like me."

Yeah. Tyrion is a keeper.

Ser Davos finally got to confront the Red Witch over the burning death of the Princess...a wonderfully raw and powerful scene. Liam Cunningham is one hell of an actor. And Melissandre is now banished from the North under threat of execution if she returns.

The oh-so-young but mouthy Lady Mormont reunites the North behind the King of the North (Jon Snow) so the Northern Houses are together once again. Lord Balish watches on...less amused.

Margery's Grandmother goes to Dorne to form an alliance...has some great one liners and a surprise appearance by Varys to help plot her revenge.

And Cersi does her power grab and appoints herself Queen...with a chilling dressed in black photo moment of evil on the Iron Throne with Jamie looking on with approval it appears. Is it bad time to tell you I had this terrifying vision of Hillary Clinton and Bill for a moment there?

The Sixth Season ends with Theon Greyjoy and Sis and Iron Island Crew, Some of the Unsullied, All the Dothrakis (and their horses down below decks in a hold), Dany, Varys and Tyrion on deck with three screaming dragons overhead as a wide pan of 1000 ships head toward Westeros.  Loved the shadows on the water of the dragons flying over.

Won't the Crew at Westeros be surprised in Season 7 ?

Now we wait....and wait....and wait....

The Perfect Season's Ending...well except for that man-bun thing they have decided to put on the back of Jon Snow's head.

For godsake man...either let it down curly and beautiful and long, or let somebody take one of those broadswords in the room and remove the damned thing.

Seriously.

When you have THIS

Why in the "Name of the Seven" would you do THIS to it?

Why Dany never gets a hot cup of coffee at Starbucks...
