A Saturday Cup

The end of the week.

And WHAT a week.

If you believe what the media has churned out daily since the election results Tuesday you might think the view out your window is something like this

Except...well...it isn't.

Take a minute. Walk outside your door. Breathe the crisp Fall air  (your results may vary depending on your location) Look at everything that is absolutely beautiful and unchanged in your life. Don't buy into the doom and gloom and "we're all gonna die right now" mentality. Think of ways that YOU can make your corner of the World (or just your block, or street, or home) a better place to be. Think of ways that you can help the needy or feed the homeless or make someone smile. Once the guard changes be as vigilant and politically active as we should ALWAYS be, anyway. Be the Change you want to see in the World (...thanks, Gandhi...) And remember at the end of the day

And you people who are using election results as a reason to desecrate the flag...harm others or property...or just add to the mayhem and chaos...get the fuck over yourselves. You guys are just people who walk around wanting the world to burn.  Do you expect that kind of behaviour to change anything? Do you think you are furthering whatever cause you may or may not believe in?

You aren't fooling anyone.

And you certainly aren't changing anything or widening your circle of influence.

And everyone in the Media who has been stirring the pot since the election results...take a look at the chaos you are inciting and do everyone a favour and be more responsible that that.

And, if they don't stop awfulizing and yanking our chains, start turning them off and tuning them out.

You want to make a difference? Do something? Contact their sponsors and tell then how sick of it you are and the negative influence it will make on you as a consumer of their products. That is how to change the world in the 21st Century.

Hit them in their wallets.

Life goes on, people.

Speaking of which...Suicide Prevention reports a huge influx of calls post election.

SERIOUSLY???

WTF?

Look...if your ability to go on living hinges on the results of one presidential election...you have much bigger mental health problems than who is currently (or is going to be) POTUS.  M'kay?

And in the category of WTF are they THINKING...I show you possibly the stupidest idea on the Internet today...

RIGHT.

Because racists, homophobes and predators couldn't possibly pin one of these on the outside of their clothing as a lure for easy PREY...could they???

Really, people?

Maybe we should just issue good guy and bad guy tee-shirts.
Or maybe black and white hats.

SMH!

Think...

So...I am currently avoiding the media hype...and happier for it.

Loretta and Sharon and I spent a large part of Wednesday Mall-Ratting Bloomington College Mall. We checked out the winter styles...scarves...gloves...hats and boots (and bags). Bought candles for Thanksgiving at Yankee. Did some pre-Christmas browsing. Tested and bought some of the new scents and soaps at Bath and Bodyworks. People watched, tried some new-to-us chocolates, and fell absolutely face first into the most amazing Lucas PizzaEVER for lunch.

Already planning next month's adventure in Terre Haute! Did somebody say "Cinnabons" ???

Thursday, Nicole and I ran off for the day with The Minion  (Aiden).

Checking out all the new Christmas Trees and Ornaments. Since "Idgy" will be here in about 20 days now and will be staying over her birthday weekend proper I am going to actually do the whole Teal and Brown (it is an Idgy thing) this year. Mom has just started her chemo and radiation...by next month we will need a quiet, nesting weekend.

Nicole decided on she and James' favourite. A "Nightmare Before Christmas" Theme.

Which will be awesome.

Then off to Almost Home for brunch...where Aiden saw THIS

And spent most of the meal wondering why the hostess was taking

"MY CAKE"

to the other diner's tables...lol!

After lunch proper, he got his Praline Chocolate Cake and found it wonderful!

His latest "must do"...he gets into the front of the walker and calls it

"Our Car...Me-Maw"

(...where he got me-maw I'll never know...)

And walks up to the house with me, after an outing, like this.

He is an amazing, and we are buddies.

She and I have decided to do a mid-month (every month) brunch together with or without the Minion.
She is truly the daughter I never had...but always wanted!
And I am not "the MIL" but just "Mom".

Some progress (and hope) being made on gait issues/paralysis related to brain or spinal issues.  Very early stages with implanted chips but very positive results.

Not sure if it will ever be in human trials (or available), in time for me...but so happy that it will one day help others who have lost (or never had) the ability to walk.

Today, James and Nicole celebrate their 3rd Anniversary together.

They are living their "...happily-ever-after..." So well matched. Soulmates. Like two sides of the same coin.

They make a good team.

Monday, they meet with their attorney (re: my grands) for their first sit down! So hopeful for them!

Chris and Tina (and the grand-puppies) are making their move into a larger place this weekend. They are turning one room into a study-den for their courses. They are both focused on "our future careers" at the moment, and doing well.

Me? I am taking this weekend and most of next week to rest...and plot and plan for the end of the year (Holidays, Idgy's Birthday and
Visit, and All
). Working on a rest-of-the-year map!

Have home-made potato soup simmering and going to raise a round loaf of Caraway Bread, and a side salad to accompany it, today.

Love baking during late autumn!

Not only does it take the chill off the room...but makes home smell incredible.

Also, got tiny start on my Fall Landscape, which I have decided to do before Monet's Ghost, while I can still pop out and study leave colours and shadows and such, before they are gone.

My friend, Jainine, gave me permission to use a photo of a small footbridge she took (and I really liked) in Pennsylvania, the other day, as a guide. I will be doing embellishments and add my own touches/trees/colours et al...but here is the photo

I just loved the "feel" of it.

Where my canvas is at right now...

So...yeah...miles to go.

Will share when it starts "becoming".

More Anon...

And planning to finish Turkey by December 1st...so until then expect a lot of virtual travel! Got to get Mayes' Tour done by the end of December.
