Cradle Mountain is located in the Central Highlands region of the Australian island state of Tasmania. 

The mountain is situated in the Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park.

Composed of Dolerite Columns at 5,069 feet...it is the fifth largest mountain in Tasmania. It is the remains of a once active volcano.
