Okay...I'm just saying the wise men may have to double up on the way back...
Had an early Christmas Adventure...and celebrated John's birthday the next day. It was perfect!
Fixed a traditional Moroccan meal with camel filet...yam...naan garlic flatbread and tomato/pepper salad.
The first taste of camel.
...relax...more than half the world enjoys camel meat...
Low and slow was definitely the way to cook it, though.
Ours came out falling-apart tender after nearly 4 hours on 200 degrees...the taste a lot like good beef...but still a bit chewy. If it had been cooked on a higher temp or for less time I have to believe it would have been leathery.
I have trimmings left and am putting together a camel stew for tomorrow and the Chiefs-Raiders Game.
Our local park did a light display, and we enjoyed a drive-through...
Ended the year in the same Inn we started it!
With Ralph Our Travel Bear.
Celebrated the next day with a couple of Arby's new Brisket sandwiches...and birthday candles in turnovers...and spent some quality Mom and Dad time with Sofi.
A Wonderful Start to The Season!
Almost forgot....the dessert.
A Creme-Brulee type affair with clots of caramel...topped with crumbled pecan shortbread cookies.
Sounds delicious.
It was disgusting.
The name is even worse...the Arabic translated to Camel Drool!!!!
BLEAH!
