March may have come in like a lamb...but make no mistake about it....it left like an entirely different animal.
60 miles from me.

Spent most of the night in clothes and shoes with the cat pressed against me, like, "...save me, mom." And going over escape plans in my mind should we have to evacuate the building.
Always good to have a plan.
The wind and rain and noise was as bad as I have heard for years.
Lisa (my sister) fortunate, as it missed her only by a couple of streets in Whiteland.
Diane, still without power.
John, some tree and branch loss..and he also had to be "kitty savior".
"...don't let it get me, Dad!"
Angie, with still more roof damage.
Tina, who completely dodged a bullet...even the chickens are fine!
And so we gather our tribe, check everyone, and consider ourselves very lucky!!
Anyway...
and entering this month with a lot of new discoveries, and good news.
"...ya done good, Dad!"
Sofi whose new favorite toy is the feathers and stick that John fashioned for her.
She does back-flips playing with this thing.
Two discoveries of my own.
The newest triple berry jam from Smuckers that tastes just like Razzleberry Pie!!!
Good on toast, as an ingredient, or just by the spoonful!
But my real find are these
Not just grays...but tried dried morels for the very first time.
Not only are they easier to obtain...way way less expensive....no waste during shipping...easy to store and reconstitute...only grays if you want...
but the BEST PART????
(and I would have never believed this)
Once reconstituted you cannot tell the difference between fresh and dried!!!
"Pasta with Reconstituted Saute'd Dried Grays, Browned Butter and Parmesan"
IKR???
This is a game-changer. I can have Morels all year!!!!!
Although many sites will tell you to reconstitute using boiling water...my approach was to soak in warm water until they reach their natural size...rule of thumb...one ounce equals 1/2 pound...then finish off in very cold water until they are rubbery and firm to the touch...then prepare however you want.
Just exactly like fresh Morels!
And yes...there will be Birthday Morels.
Yeah...it is that time again, already."...have trash-bags...will toss..."
Seeing some difference...and I still have a couple of months left.
The huge National News this week, is of course...
Indictmas...followed closely by Arrestmas and Arraignment-Eve...hopefully Convictmas-Eve and Imprisonmas.
It was a glorious thing...and a moment I almost missed.
Until John called
"Have you heard??? They have indicted him!!"
No clarification of who was even necessary.
OMG!!!
I'd been saving the end of the Peach Whiskey for celebratory times such as these.
Down to about 3 shots left, now.
Yes...you have to love Cohen. And I have seen snakes mating that are not twisting and turning and writhing like Fox News is doing while trying to cover their way out of this.
Just saying.
DeSantis isn't doing much better.
Remember when he tried to take over Reedy Creek...and went toe to toe with Da Mouse.
Yeah...told you it wouldn't end well...
Quick as...well..a mouse...the Reedy Creek Board met before the takeover and added layers of protection that effectively neuters him from bothering any of Disney's operations in perpetuity. The actual clause reads 21 years after the demise of the youngest living heir of King Charles III.
Yes...the Mouse plays the long game.
And Mickey has a better team of lawyers than God.
So, effectively way way way after Desantis is dead and forgotten.
No matter what you think of Mickey-World...you have to stand in a little awe at this.
Off to a hot bath...and enjoying the weekend.
Love,
Carla
