"I may only be 3 inches tall...but I'm stalking YOU." ~ Sofi
Let THE GAMES begin.
"You kept the receipt...right?" ~Shelby
It has been a long time since either of us has had to deal with a baby in the house.
So this week has been a lot like this:
OMG, it is sooooooooo cute.
OMG, it is sooooooo annoying.
OMG, what have I done???
OMG, it it soooooo loud.
OMG, it's IN my FOODBOWL!
OMG, look at her hop and play.
OMG, if you SWAT at my tail one more time, I'm going to EAT you.
Can I help it if you broke yours off???
Mom, make it STOP.
It has been one week, and she already knows her name.
Sofi.
and the word NO.
Or maybe she thinks her name is
"Sofi-NO"
It is certainly a possibility.
As are
"Down...Damn it."
"Why you little..."
"Not there...in the litterbox"
and "Shut the hell up."
We are adapting.
"You know I own you now, right?" ~Sofi
Shelby is warming up to her, or at least able to be on the same sofa with her.
Their initial meeting was hilarious.
Shelby puffed up indignantly, fangs bared and a terrifying hiss.
To which Sofi drew herself up...all three inches of her bad self and gave this tiny hiss right back...fearless.
Shel looked stunned and just padded off in disgust.
She (Shelby) then attempted a hunger-strike.
I went ahead and fed Sofi.
Not Ghandi...her strike lasted about an hour...then she nosed out
"Hey...I was just messing around...ya got any of that food left?"
By then, of course, Sofi was already surveying her new Kingdom.
And Shelby was like
"Effing Thrilled"
So I now have The DIVA and my Street-Kitty.
"Why, I never!" ~Shelby
"Back off, Bitch...I'll cut you." ~Sofi
"Who ME? Nobody ever suspects the kitten. heh, heh, heh..."
Never a dull moment!
Somehow in the midst of all this cat-foolery John and I managed our getaway, and a side-trek out to see Loretta in her new assisted living digs.
Adjusting well. And let's just say the shades and the tennis shoes that match...that isn't an accident...lol!
Loved the fountain and sitting area on the long porch with wooden rockers. We went out to lunch and enjoyed a bit of shopping together.
And now I have to plant some of those green hydrangeas next summer!
As always, over too soon...but we (John and I) managed fitting in a wonderful Our Time adventure as well.
And some amazing windshield time together.
NOT A CAVE...lol
With ZERO speeding tickets...so that's a plus.
Some of the big news this week involved James & Chris and both of their purchases of VR Headsets and games...and my FINALLY trying VR out.
OMG!!!
If you have never tried VR, you simply MUST.
Words don't even begin to describe it. While at James' I put the headset on to experience the Batman Game. The beginning has you perched high on a ledge of a cliff. Totally immersed at this point he slowly started to roll my wheelchair forward...
Although I knew I was
On solid, level ground
In their living room
Instinctively my arms and body jumped and flailed as though I would actually go over (off) the cliff.
Yes. It is THAT realistic.
Enjoyed a lovely Sunday Dinner with them.
Man...can Nicki cook!!!
And brought my tiny Calico Manx (Sofi) home that very night.
"Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"
Finally made my way to the head of the queue and read
this week.
A joint effort between former POTUS: Bill Clinton
and Best-Selling Author: James Patterson.
Fairly incredible, actually.
You can see where Clinton's behind-the-scenes intimate knowledge of the inner workings of the White House elevated this story from merely good to great.
Suspense, cyber-crime, firesale, spies, love, assassins, patriots and villains. It's all in there.
A Must Read.
The Movie this Week:
What's not to love?
Opening with your consummate car-guy working on a 70's vintage TransAm in his garage...vinyl on a record player...finishing his work with "I love you" and a cold beer when he finally gets her to turn over.
(and haven't we all been there)
Only, he is a dying breed. The world around him has gone futuristic. Driverless cars. Pizzas that can be printed for dinner.
A dinosaur caught in the tar-pit of technology.
I found myself feeling kind of sorry for him.
Then the real story begins.
A sci-fi thriller about AI, cyber-modifications to humans, the fine line defining what makes us human, and power.
Twists and turns, and an ending that just begs SEQUEL.
May have been the best movie I've seen this year.
If you can only see one.
See this one.
You won't be disappointed.
Chris and Tina putting the finishing touches on their Save The Date wedding cards.
James and Nicole soon to celebrate their 5th Anniversary!
And last, but not least
WHAT NOW????
Beginning where we ended last week as Trump's Star on Hollywood Blvd. was AGAIN attacked by a man with a pick-axe and broken to so much rose-granite colored gravel.
but wait...there's more...
It seems Hollywood took a vote and decided to REMOVE Trump's star once and for all because of his bigotry, misogynistic comments and behavorism. Gone. Outta there. Never to return.
So anyway...thanks, pick-axe guy!
Still no verdict in the first of the Manafort Trials.
Omarosa has her book out and the undivided attention of the POTUS with (now) her tapes.
And is there anybody who hasn't taped this guy, now?
Trump is angry and is trying or has removed security clearance from those who disagree/anger him...including "Served under Six Presidents" CIA Brennan.
And boy is he pissed.
Pissed enough that he has finally used the T word (as in TREASON) and it is about fucking time someone did!
The Pentagon decided that The Orange Man will NOT be getting his outlandishly expensive ego massage...er...Military Parade in November.
And Rudy has been blathering on about Mueller's investigation and not letting His Marmaladeness be caught in THE PERJURY TRAP.
(*note...a great way to avoid The Perjury Trap is NOT TO LIE...okay??)
How difficult is that?
Excited because the Blue Wave appears to be building with polls reporting an upswing of 300% new registered Democrats this year!!!!!
Hoping we clean The House and Senate!
And sad news this week with the deaths of Queen of Soul: Aretha Franklin and Nobel Peace Prize Winner & NATO's: Kofi Annan.
More as it comes...
Have a Wonderful Weekend!
Day 6 in Captivity
Today, she used the water-boarding torture...again.
Human captor refers to this as a BATH.
I told her nothing.
Later, I will defecate in her shoe to show my utter contempt for her methods.
Must admit I smell better, and the last of the
fleas are gone.
I suspect poison in the water.
I am still alive.
For now.
