Alice Cooper |
So...did anyone else wake up this morning...stumble into the bathroom and look in the mirror to say
"Great Scott...I've Morphed into ALICE COOPER."
(...extra points if you just read that in Christopher Lloyd's voice...)
Had such a good time turning into something of a Zombie and a Voodoo Doll yesterday...and it was great...
But today, I am STILL removing black polish from my nails...adhesive from my cheeks, and the dark under-liner remains residually giving me a decidedly Pirate of the Caribbean "Jack Sparrow" eyes for the foreseeable future.
"Pirate"
~laughing~
Wonderful Halloween!
Which actually started Friday in Greencastle. And a visit with Shel and Baby Turtle (Fred Jr.) and Tina, Kimberly and Emma Jean.
Loved Kimber as a spider-web with Emma Jean as the Spider!
And Pumpkins were carved and lit!
And Nicole and I left early in the morning chill for Brenden and Emma's final Soccer Games of the Season.
Emma's Coach even came dressed as a Jedi.
"Use The Force to get that GOAL, Kyle!"
Go Team!
And Awards.
We came back here, shortly, for Hot Chocolate and Raspberry Cheese Danish...then went to work on our make-up and costuming.
Completing the ensemble with a leather punk rocker jacket, made by Nicole, and a pair of skinny jeans.
Emma was the Cheshire Cat and Brenden Morphed into Spider-Man before my very eyes!
And off they went to Trick or Treat!
I sat out by the patio table with this
Passing out the candy has always been a special treat for me. I love seeing all the kids, and sometimes their parents, dressed for the evening! And then there is the close proximity to the chocolate to be considered. The Older kids and parents found my Voodoo Zombie
"Way cool"
but it was a bit spooky for the littler ones. May change up to something less ghoulish next Halloween.
It was amazing how many little ghouls and goblins were out. Over 90 by their place, I would guesstimate. One group, alone, numbered nearly 30. Nicki had filled two huge stainless steel bowls with candy...and before 8:00 it was gone. Every last piece.
Okay except the two packs of M&M's that she and I squirrelled back anticipating a chocolate shortage by the end of the evening.
Then the kids were back with their booty. We settled in to watch Jeff Dunham's Halloween Special "Minding the Monsters"...had a big bowlful of Nicki's chili that had been simmering in the crock-pot for hours, and listened to James play his new guitar!
The FlameKat.
And it is beastly.
So anyway...moving a bit slowly today, and I see a nap in my near future.
NOVEMBER.
Already.
How can it be so???
Soon to be filled with (for Nicole and Emma from me) a trip to Chicago and the American Girl Doll Store and Navy Pier, She and James' 2nd Anniversary Getaway, Sharon's Birthday Party here this year, Lennon's 27th Birthday, Thanksgiving for the kids HERE, and about a million details before December.
It is going to be a busy month.
Funny how the leaves have changed from their bright October reds, yellows and orange, to many shades of brown...seemingly overnight. Muted Browns. The colour of Indiana in November!
With that a last burst of warmth before Winter proper slips in.
Happy November...
(...now I am going to get back to trying to remove this eye-liner residual...)
