February...Gratitude...This Week...and Tomorrow's Superbowl

Happy February!

Who doesn't ENJOY a whole month dedicated to Love and Roses and Chocolate?

Had a visit with two of my three boys and a long phone call from the one out of state, this week.

They remind me of how very blessed I am.

And a new shot of some of my grand-puppies!

                                                 A Pile of Pockets
                                                     (Pocket Bullys)

James, Brenden and Aiden here early in the week.

And the new haircuts!

Special Thanks to James who took the time to fix the hand-brake that had broken on my wheelchair.

"It's what I do, Mom."

Like new...and much safer now.

Everything going very well with his new venture!

A catch-up call from Lennon...as politically distraught over the Senate Trial as I was

"Seriously...No Fucking Witness or Evidence??? What the hell, Mom?"

and Florida getting warm again after an unseasonably cool winter.

Also a drop by catch up and chat with Chris...politics...college...life...and apparently his wife, Tina, is the new Monopoly-Bitch-From-Hell
 (...a title I once held...)

"Fine...Just take it all...You Win..."

And Thanks for the groceries (and good advice), son!

You guys make my life so much better/easier, you know.

Maintaining his 4.0...on the Dean's List and received his Honors Grad Kit...and joined Phi Theta Kappa.

Looking forward to being there at Graduation!

The GSC supply slowly dwindling...the S'mores gone.

lol...

Aren't they just like this?

Actually, I have my eyes set on a new cookie out on the shelves right now...

Maybe not so much the Marshmallow Creme...but definitely trying the Coconut Caramel!

Celebrating Chocolate Month...red bows everywhere and...this

Starting my morning with a mug of Hot Cocoa!

Tracking The Wuhan closely because apparently I do have a nearly obsessive  fascination with new virii and transmission rates.

Who knew?

Over 12,000 confirmed cases as of this morning...including one new confirmation in Boston  Massachusetts.

And did rewatches of Contagion, Outbreak and Pandemic this week...because...yeah...you have to.

lol

It's a sickness.

(...no, that was not meant to be punny...okay...maybe a little...)

The Book this Week:

I really was looking forward to this book of essays.

Then I read them.

Sadly disappointing.

Well written...but the author blames her blackness for everything that has ever happened/gone wrong in her life...from Thickness to Divorce.

She also blames other people's whiteness for many of these problems.

Now I realize that (especially now in the Era of Trump & His Minions) that there is a horrible rise in racism...and a terrible lack of accountability within law enforcement. I am not trying to discount or downplay that for a moment.

But being black does not force you to eat...or get fat, or stay fat.

And there are a great number of obese white people.

Being black does not cause you to get Divorced.
(...but being obsessed about it might...)

There are a huge number of Caucasians who are also divorced.

All in all...I was ready to quit this book before the halfway mark...and finished it only because it was essays...and hoping it would improve.

It did not.

Don't waste your time.

(...and if I were black...my review would still be the same...it sucks...)

and, of course, the Pre-Game Prattle

What a Game this is shaping up to be!

The 54th Superbowl, to be hosted in Miami Florida tomorrow...

The San Francisco 49ers ~vs~ The Kansas City Chiefs.

...confession...

Although I am torn...and love both teams...I am cheering for the Chiefs this year.

Here is why

                                                      Patrick Mahomes

I have been following this kid since 2018, when John said

"You have to see this play!!!"

And during a pass he switched hands and threw the ball while being tackled.

It was something neither of us had ever seen before.

Not only is he an incredibly talented quarterback...and now only 24 years old...he is also just big...goofy...happy "looks like someone turned a Labrador puppy loose on the field" kind of guy.

He gets so excited about a great play by any of his team...and sometimes even the other teams, as well.

(...how can you not love that level of enthusiasm...)

I would LOVE to see him (and the team) win this Superbowl.

His first.

He would EXPLODE with happiness all over the field!

I'm sure of it!

 Go Chiefs!

Getting beans made today, to refry for a huge tray of Nachos to snack on tomorrow while watching The Replacements

                                       The Ultimate Football Film.

Then...The Game.

See Everyone on Monday!
