Superbowl Sunday: Pre-Game...Faces of Parenthood...and Other Ramblings

Yeah...so there is this football game today, you see...

The NE Patriots ~vs~ The Philadelphia Eagles at Minnesota.

Superbowl LII  (2018)

Both teams 15 and 3 for the season...so it is shaping up to be a really exciting game.

This makes the 9th time that the Pats have made the Superbowl. They have won it 5 times.

This is the 4th time The Eagles have made it.  They have never won...but...this is where things get really interesting...

The last time the Eagles were here...the team they lost to was....wait for it...

The New England Patriots.

I am seeing a team that may just have enough motivation to maybe pull this off.

Besides...who doesn't like to root for The Underdog????

Tom Brady is a great guy and the Patriots (obviously) have a well-oiled winning machine...but this year amidst the Chili and Chips...my battle cry has to be

GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And you have to love Nick Foles (second string QB) who was definitely in the right place at the right time.

This year James and I are actually rooting for the same team...lol!

                                     "What Parenthood is REALLY like"

and The Munchkins

Woke yesterday to Chris...

Who came bearing Bazbeaux's Greek Pizza for Breakfast. Absolutely amazing stuff...delicious!

Also a new professional grade laptop filled with his Cisco Training software

and book (big enough to use as a small weapon) and bearing tidings of setting the date for their (He and Tina's) Fall Wedding!!!!!

Soon to begin the search for the perfect Mother of the Groom's dress.

So happy for both of them!

We chatted, and he helped me reconfigure my router (who had lost its little mind during the night...it may be on the way out)

As long as it keeps it together through The Game tonight, okay?

Unless you have been beneath a political rock...you have doubtless heard that they released the Nunes Memo yesterday.

FULL Transcript of the Memo

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/house-intelligence-committee-memo-read-full-transcript-gop-memo-n844116

If you want to make your head explode you can compare FOX News coverage and CNN coverage and hell maybe even throw in Twitter and President Trump's instant Tweet as well.

LMAO.

I did.

Then I read the Actual Memo...sought out AP and Reuters...checked out what the BBC had to say about the entire ordeal...and re-read the Memo.

Somewhere in the midst of all of those...is The Truth.

But on the heels of rereading it the second time I must profess my personal opinion...and worth every penny you pay for it...is that

1.  No one was Vindicated. No one was Indicated. It simply showed that the Carter Page investigation has been going on a lot longer than any of us realized.

2.  That the investigation was extended through the proper channels at least 3 times.

3. That the whole Release (or Releasing) the Memo was much ado about nothing. At worse, Reprehensible to release classified information during an ongoing investigation to play political games...at best...a badly needed distraction for the GOP from the Mueller Investigation.

 (...bright shiny objects...)

It did however start a trending hashtag.

#YoMemoJokes

Example:

"Yo Memo is so badly deflated even Brady won't pass it."

Not to be outdone Paul Ryan released his own appalling tweet yesterday in an attempt to show how WELL the tax cuts were already working for the average citizen.  You just can't make shit like this up

He later removed the tweet...but not before half of the Twitterverse grabbed a screenshot.

This just may be Ryan's LET THEM EAT CAKE moment.

Just saying.

Especially since just after the (now infamous) tax bill was passed Mr. Ryan was the recipient of 500,000 from Koch. Yes...a half a Million.

and the Twitterverse is nothing if not entertaining...giving rise to the hashtag

#WithABuckFiftyAWeek

followed by people's descriptions of everything you could do for a $1.50 extra a week...or how long it would take you to buy or pay for certain items.

Example

I can pay off my student loan in only 339 weeks.

and helping create a sub-movement within The Resistance

I could buy .... I could possibly buy ..... Hmmm ... Well maybe.. No that's too expensive.... Oh maybe!!! No, that's out of my budget. Oh heck, I'm giving it to

Ironstache (aka) Randy Bryce, a local ironworker, happens to be the Democrat running against Ryan in the Midterms hoping to unseat him.

The idea soon extrapolated and Resistors were pledging to donate their buck fifty weekly (and more) to any Democrat running opposed one of the vunerable GOP seats.

So thanks for the encouragement Paul and for proving just how really out of touch with the average citizen you REALLY are.

And Go Ironstache!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(...don't get pissed off....donate and vote...)

Only 6 hours and 25 minutes until kickoff!

Chili is simmering and soon to watch The Replacements. An Annual Superbowl Tradition!

Catch you tomorrow for the Post-Game.
