Football...and Why Mahomes May Kill Me

Okay...so The Indianapolis Star proclaimed yesterday's Colt vs Jets game

"The Worst Colt's Game Ever"

I am not sure about that...they have had a lot of substandard games in the past few years.

Watched the entire bloody affair.

(...there was no enjoyment to it...)

and felt seriously bad for Luck and Reich for being so much better that the mediocre team around them.

Several of our best players out with injuries.

Desperately in need of WR's.

We have got to cut back some of the deadwood...get some talent in there next season. Seriously...you can't think we stand a chance in hell at playoffs like THIS...

And, like a stopped clock, that has the right time at least twice a day

Chester Rogers finally caught (and held onto) the ball.

It was a Special Olympics Moment.

We had already run the clock down and loss was imminent...but you just wanted to pat his head and say

"Hey...good for you. You caught the ball. All by yourself. And you didn't even drop it. What a Big Boy!"

But at the end it was still 34-42 and we are now 1-5.

Dearest mother — Vexation washes over me. While it was another tough battle, the unit was defeated by the Aircraft men. Our maneuvers were not crisp. I fired multiple ricochets from my sidearm. Yet, brewing over frustrations will accomplish little. We must press onward. — Andrew

Dearest mother — The unit is making its return march to home camp this morning. And time is precious as it seems a group of Bison men out of New York are now on our tail. If I understand correctly, each of their soldiers is named William. Peculiar. — Andrew

The RAMS remain undefeated at 6-0

But late last night, I realized that Patrick Mahomes may be the cause of my eventual demise.

The Chiefs were 5-0 (undefeated) going into the Patriots game last night at NE. The kickoff wasn't until 8:15.

The match--up between Brady at 41 and Mahomes at 23 both of them amazing Quarterbacks,

The temptation was too much.

A cup of very strong coffee to kick me off...and later popcorn because...well...football.

I was out of wine/cheese/and crackers, okay.

The first half rather lackluster, and I wondered if Mahomes had met his match.

Not to worry as he absolutely rocked the second half.

This might have been the BEST moment for me.

And at around 2 minutes left on the clock 4th Quarter...the scoreboard was tied at 40-40.

The Pats had the ball and a single FG won them the game.

One freaking field goal.

SERIOUSLY???

So now the Chiefs are 5-1...but everybody saw how close it all came.

Even Brady.

Maybe especially Brady.

And bedtime was after Midnight.

And both cats had long given up on me and were sound asleep.

And I had to be up at 6:30 and back to "Adulting".

But it was so totally WORTH it!!!

Tomorrow, we will check out Brisbane, AU.
