Proof That MY Generation Has Taken Over AARP...

"I'm not trying to cause a big s-s-sensation...just talkin' bout my g-g-generation"
                                                                                                                ~The Who

Yeah...checked the mail to find a Pot leaf across the front of the AARP Bulletin like a stashed copy of High Times (for seniors)...lol.

Dylan was right.

The times they are a-changing!

With medical marijuana and CBD oil taking the place of many appetite enhancers, sleeping aids, anti-nausea medication, pain medication, mood elevators and anti-anxiety/anti-depressants.

Of course, this is not NEWS to many of us

"Old Hippies"

We just wonder what took the medical community so long to catch up.

You can take Megace, Ambien, Antivert, Oxycontin, Paxil, Xanax, and Zoloft...until you rattle-

Or you could take a couple tokes of this joint and eat a bowlful of Doritos...then sleep like a baby.

Tough Call.

Great week.

Had a Plainfield Adventure with Brenda and Diane.

The Open Concept Mall formerly known as Metropolis
( ...now called The Shoppes of Perry Crossing...)

Started our morning with Starbucks Coffee and this-

(...who knew that Barnes and Nobles cafe even carried Cheesecake Factory Chocolate Cheesecake....)

Perfect way for three self-professed chocoholics to start our day.

(...we are getting small matching tattoos...and started thinking about a tiny cup and saucer since we all run on coffee...until Brenda mentioned a Hershey's Kiss and we all agreed that Chocolate R Us...)

So...yeah...

Soon!

We plundered the bookstore.

(...I could LIVE at B&N...)

Then we dragged Brenda off to Victoria's Secret since she had always wanted to get something there since her huge weight loss

(...quite a few years back she lost 150 pounds...and kept it off...)

She ended up with some amazing black fits like a second skin silky panties with a tiny pink bow (and was soooooooooooooooo pleased)!

How pleased was she?

Enough to sidle up at the grocery store the next day and confide in a whisper

"I'm wearing them!!!"

(...yeah...when you're our age...it is the little things, okay???)

laughing

I found a great new scent at VS, as well.

I have used Noir Tease in the past (a gift)...but had never tried Heartbreaker.

Candy Sweet.

Very Nice!

The weather was absolutely perfect for an Outdoor Mall.

Most of the day was centered around Fall Scents...both at Bath and Body and Yankee Candle.

Bought my Marshmallow Latte (everything) for October's Bathroom.

Diane found several items that smelled just like Candy Corn...then found a candle to match at Yankee.

After shopping til' we dropped

(...which takes a lot less time these days...)

and all tried The Claddagh Irish Pub for Irish Pub Grub.

Inside

Settling into a side-room table for Shepherd's Pie with beef and lamb,
Onion Soup created with Guinness and beef broth, side salad and a chunk of soda bread.

Must try to recreated this thick bodied Onion Soup at home. A lot of thinly sliced sauteed onions...rich meaty beef broth and Guinness base...topped with croutons and melted cheese...and sprinkled with chives. More Soda Bread (maybe oat) on the side.

It was all amazing!

Enjoyed sharing chat and Chris' new acquisition this week

Although he has shot for years...this is his first OWNED handgun.

He has found a great range where SAFETY is a priority...so that makes me a little less nerve-jangled, I think.

Since John both carries and enjoys target ranges, we are planning a day out with Chris before long.

They are both such gear heads.

Chris doesn't have a laser sight on his yet...John does, and sometimes (clip removed I am assuming) plays with the red dot with Gizzy.

"Don't EVEN think about it, Buster!"

I have the herbs in and dried, and most of the patio-garden tidied. Soon to replace it with mums and a fat orange pumpkin or three.

This week seemed a lot like All Stephen King...All the time.

The Book This Week

The latest and greatest from Stephen King.

Set in a hidden Government Lab...children with special powers (telekinesis and telepathy) are abducted and used for horrific experiments and weaponized.

Sounds like The Shop (Firestarter)...right?

But it is completely different.

Engaging read...almost enough to earn the moniker "That Damned Book"

I literally finished this hefty tome in 3 sittings.

Thanks, Lisa!

The Movie This Week

(...because it was just released...and you just can't get too much SK...right? )

Complete with our favorite killer clown, Pennywise.

I am glad that they took the book in two distinctive parts...the first movie dealing with what happened when they were children (2017)...and this one handling them Grown Up when IT makes a reappearance.

Perfectly cast and several surprising cameos...

I enjoyed King's cameo the best...watch for it!

I loved the original IT with Tim Curry...but Skarsgard makes a much creepier, more terrifying clown.

I love the red balloon appearing, spookily, everywhere.

(...and how cool would it be to smuggle a red helium balloon into a showing and let it drift over the audience...lol...)

Great CGI.

Faithful to the original story.

Even the crappy ending of the book was salvaged by this movie...

A must see!

Have a Great Weekend!

Life is Good...

And the newest addition to our little Pride

Suri

An abandoned kitten that was suppose to make its way to the shelter...and was only going to hang out here for a couple of days...

But got a name and a home instead...because

1. Apparently, I AM a crazy cat lady.

2. She was VERY good at what she does...lol
