Celebrated Loretta's Birthday Saturday with a home-cooked brunch here. Chicken Parmesan with Fresh Mozzarella and Herbs over Pasta with Sautéed Peppers and Tomatoes. A Green Salad and Good Coffee. And Candle-lit cupcakes, of course paired with Tiramisu Gelato.
My personal fashionista, she totally approved of the Fall Boots and Bag...and soundly kicked my ass at cards...which thrilled her to no end. Planning a midweek trek together to Bloomington soon, and going to check out the Fall Scents (both candles and lotions & potions) and do Applebees together. Also have an October trip to the local orchard in the works.
Busy week already. Realized yesterday that the Greencastle DS Gathering (My Gathering) is in only
days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah...there has been so much going on it has crept up on me.
Needless to say I spent all day yesterday on the phone and Internet and E-mail and back on the phone...but have all the arrangements...reservations...catering....et al...pretty much under control. Lots of moving parts. But the most important part is we will all be together again soon!
So thankful for Vicki and Mark (and everyone else who has offered to do a bit of shuttling to and from the airport for those flying in) and Jane and Betsy who are arriving early to help me get everything set up. And everyone for coming to Indiana for this one. You guys are the best!
Also Chris for helping with the Tribute to Loran by bringing his guitar and playing Pink Floyd.
And Pam for all the Mylar Helium balloons.
So far it is looking like Diane, Both Vicki's, Mark, Lee, Sallie, All Three Cathys and maybe SYD (the dachshund), Luann ( and Adrian?), Betty, Ted, Hector, Paula and Deanna, Sharon and Dawn, Brenda, Deedra and Lillian. Claudia, Pam, Two of the Lindas and Carol...Chris and Tina, James and Nicole, At least 3 of the grands at sometime during the whole business, and Me. Hoping Darleen and Jeff can make it...
Looking forward to seeing everyone again so much!!!!!
Not just friends after nearly 5 years...we are Family.
A nice surprise on this past Sunday, as Chris brought a sample of the Orange Spiced Honey Mead he has been working on. This may be well be the perfect Fall/Christmas drink. The flavour reminds me a lot of Davidson's Christmas Tea. He is planning on bottling quite a bit to distribute as Christmas gifts later in the year.
Love the colour and aroma...and very nice with a cheese and savory cracker plate. Took a mug into the bath last evening and felt like I may have stepped into Westeros!
So..............finished Martin's first book and am now on the second "Clash of Kings"
Damn can this guy write! And the books flesh out each character and a lot of details/information that you just can't cram into hour long segments televised. Yeah...totally hooked.
And the 2015 Fall Soccer Season has officially started.
This year Brenden and Emma are both playing!
And Hannah is busy being a Cheerleader!
Life is good!
More anon...
