Post-Game...

OMG...what a GAME!

A true Cinderella Story with a second string QB pulling his team through to a victory over an (almost) unstoppable force.  And catching (and making) a 4th down TD pass...joining SB History in the 2nd Quarter.

                                                      The Moment

The first half started with a strong game and an Eagles lead well into the 2nd Quarter...and (Patriots) Cooks Collision that took him out for the rest of the game. Even Gronkowski, back from his own bad concussion compliments of the Jaguars, wasn't really head in the game. But by halftime they had tidied up the score a bit and it seemed that when the halftime show was over...Brady would swoop in and save the day once again.

Except he didn't.

We will get to halftime and the commercials in a few.

The second half arrived and Gronkowski immediately scored the first TD of the 3rd Quarter...and Patriot's fans sighed a sigh of relief that everything was going to happen...well...the way it always happens. Everything would be okay.

Except it wasn't.

To me, this was the moment I realized that The Eagles were giving no quarter and going to win this ballgame.

A fourth quarter bold balls-to-the-wall move by Graham with 2 and change on the clock. The only sack of the entire game...resulting in a turnover on Brady.

Yep. Graham rushed Brady like an angry bear defending her cub swiping away the ball with one ginormous paw into the waiting hands of team-mate Barnett.

And in case you didn't believe Eagles could FLY...

                                                    "I Believe I Can Fly"
                                               Sincere apologies to R. Kelly

McCourty attempted to stop the play...Ertz catching Foles pass and literally vaulting (being catapulted???) off 32 into the endzone for the Touchdown.  It is being called

 "The Play of the Game"

After careful review it was found to stand, and the rest is the stuff of SB History.

Final score 41-33

Both sides played one hell of a Game.

And it was nice to see The Eagles get this one!

About half-time.

Yeah...the 90's called...they want their talent back.

It isn't that Timberlake's half-time show was bad...it was just...meh.
Slick. Produced. Uninspiring.

Pick a word.

Seriously...the giant screen projected with Prince's image as a Tribute doing

"I would Die 4U"

was more entertaining, okay?

Pink did a wonderful rendition of The Star Spangled Banner at the beginning of the game.

Great flyover, as always.

And the commercials were either really good...or in some cases uniformly bad.

My favorite was the rap mash up between Doritos Fire Chips and Mountain Dew Ice with Morgan Freeman and Peter Dinklage (...that is Tyrion to all you GoT fans...)

Also liked the red M&M turning into Danny Devito, and Steven Tyler driving backwards to Dream On...and emerging from the car as his young self by the end to a crowd of screaming groupies.

The most annoying but Memorable...and I suppose THAT is the idea...the memorable part...were the TIDE ADs.

That is RIGHT...this hasn't been a blog about last night's Superbowl at all...it is a TIDE AD.

Bwahahahaha...

And maybe the most tasteless...or at least mean-spirited of the night:

The Vikings (the kind with helmets and horns) piling into a pick-up truck (...what they were selling...although I couldn't tell you the brand...I was so stunned when I realized where they we headed with the ad...)

So the Vikings were loaded into the truck with head-banging heavy metal streaming...then a road sign says they have reached Minnesota and they all sigh...and make a u-turn.

Yeah, I know, right?

An Amazing Win...and it was fun to check out the newsfeeds post-game and watch Philadelphia and her people pour into the streets in the middle of the night just exploding with joy!

Now more coffee...

I was going to say, I needed to fill up the tub and just take a coffee bath...but THEN I found out Espresso Baths were really a thing.

Who knew?

Hmmmm...must look into this....
