My youngest grand-baby...one month old, today!
Hard to believe it has already been a month.
And hibernation is slowly over...and the bears are back!!!
747 was the first spotted.Hibernated all winter, and STILL huge.
Now about 11 are out and about, including 856 and Chunk.
Surprisingly, there are a few salmon already "popcorn-ing" up the falls.
Alices wait expectantly on the rocks for early scraps.
(...remember...all of the gulls are called Alice...)
The live cams are up and the bear people are back...chatting over morning coffee for another season.
(...and no...no one has seen Otis, yet...)
John and I ran away late in the month for a well-deserved retreat. Check out the new-to-us sports shop...relaxed a lot...and had some amazing food.
He came home to spend Saturday with Robert and Jonathan.
I came home to host Sisters Day with Tina and Lisa.
Today we both just napped the day away and recuperated.
About THE FOOD...
Some old favorites...some new stuff...and the BEST prime rib I've had in years.
Rolls with honey-cinnamon butter...huge salad...12 ounce prime rib steak...loaded baked potato and a slice of strawberry cheesecake.
(...I told you this week was all about The Food...)
Cracker Barrel breakfast...an old favorite...with a side of hot peach cobbler!
Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, cole slaw, biscuits, more peach cobbler with whipped cream and sweet tea for Sisters Day!
Tried our new Smokehouse restaurant nearby...they have smoked pork or chicken nestled in baked macaroni and cheese to die for...
And tonight tried Pizza Hut's new Hut Box...with boneless BBQ wings and a personal pan pizza of your choice!
It was excellent.
(...and next week, after the holiday, I must atone for the excesses of the week...)
Face it, like everything in life, it is usually feast or famine!
Love,
Carla
