Soccer...Why Answering the Door Can Lead to Obesity...and Sunday Zen

Celebrated "Talk Like A Pirate Day" yesterday...and realized it was Chris and Tina's 2nd Anniversary (as an exclusive couple).
How appropriate is that, eh?

So began my Saturday with Nicole and Brenden and Emma who are both playing soccer this season.

And Aiden, of course.

Emma has really improved, and in addition to being an awesome goalie, can hold her own on the field as well! And those long legs come in handy...she can really move down the field when she needs to.

Brenden...only 5...is fearless. Fierce. So happy that Nicki was able to get his very first goal on video!  He ended up scoring two for his team!

                                       (screen shot...his very first goal!)

He was so happy with himself he literally skipped all the way back to his coach for a big high five!

After the game we ended up at McDonalds  (his team sponsor)

It was a great morning!

Later Saturday night, both James and Nicole showed up- a knock on the door with chicken and bacon from their butcher. Meat for my freezer.

Then this morning, Chris knocked early to bring Cheesecake Factory Chocolate Cheesecake to go with my morning coffee.

Apparently answering the door can make you FAT.  Who knew?

~laughing~

Best Kids EVER!

So...just a relaxing Zen Sunday. Read a bit. Sat out with the Tucker-Cat...North Patio Beach being closed for the Season. Enjoying the crispness of Fall's approach in the air and several of the trees beginning to turn orange, yellows and reds. Painted a little and played in the plants. The basil is just starting to set seeds and my Morning Glories are going to have enough to share with everyone this year. Need to lift and divide my yellow day-lilies soon, too.

Back inside tonight for some Cajun Cooking. thanks to Paula and Deanna. Dirty Rice with Cajun spices, Black beans and thin strips of both red and green Peppers.

The house smells just like New Orleans!

                                          (...where I left my heart...)

More anon...

And dinner is plated!
