Welcome to the...

Middle of the Year!

Aside from the fact that WINTER lasted through April, here...the year has started off very nicely.

My goals...maybe not so much...lol!

I'm working on it...okay?

Still a Buddhist.

No longer a "nun"
(...kind of an inside joke...)

Nuns are highly over-rated...just saying.

Continuing pro-activity with finances...but still sadly lacking on the procrastination.

Once again...I'm working on it.

Amber is a lifesaver during this declutter and trash bag therapy stage of minimizing, though.

Nice to have taken that leap of trust, and renewed a relationship from 1982 (which seems like several lifetimes ago) earlier this year.

Probably because it has been.

It feels wonderful...and maybe more than a bit surprising! Never expected to feel this way again. Especially pushing 60.  Kind of giddy. Like the early 20's again!

And fun.

And alive.

Happy.

Love in the Age of Arthritis...lol!

So there is that.

Great week!

John and I enjoyed Memorial Day together and I fixed us an Authentic Hoosier Dinner with BBQ Chicken, Corn on the Cob, Sliced Tomatoes, Morels, and Bread Pudding for Afters. The only thing missing was buttered bread.

Nice to just have a day together to relax and catch up.

All the kids are fine (and happy)

The Grands are busily enjoying their Summer Stuff, and I am enjoying some 1:1 Grandma Rose Time with them while school is out!

Emma and I are going to have an Artists Day together on the 15th!

Mostly a bask, book, virtual travel and movie week.

This week's book:

Reese's recent non-fiction release.

A no-nonsense approach (and so many lovely recipes) to items you can make at home...and those best left to the grocery store or restaurant.

Her writing style is entertaining...loved the bit about her affair with chickens...no matter how cost ineffective. Had me laughing out loud.

Going to purchase this one for the shelf.

She also has a blog.

The Tipsy Baker.

Check it out.

The Movie:

A look back at one of our favorite Star Wars characters: Hans Solo

Despite any of the mediocre reviews out there, I felt they did an outstanding job filling us in on "the rest of his story".

The story behind the lucky gold dice.

How he came to be Hans Solo in the first place.

How he became a fighter pilot and why.

How he first met Chewbacca...and why they are so close.

Why he nicknamed him "Chewy".

How he ended up with the Millennium Falcon.

What really happened between he and Lando.

and much much more!

Woody Harrelson was over the top, as usual, as Beckette.

Lots of new critters.

The best new robot-  L-3  (sista-girl robot with attitude...love her)

Forbes.com said it best

"The Critics must be crazy. Solo is the BEST prequel yet!"

Forget any preconceived notion you might have had about this one and go see it. You won't be disappointed.

and, of course-

Now What????

From Memorial Day Weekend...where a 5 time draft dodger/ never served President can somehow manage to shift the focus of a day of memorializing our fallen servicemen and woman to me....me...me...

(...never underestimate the auto-focus abilities of a narcissist...)

To a racist tweet from Roseanne Bar so vile ABC pulled her new show...even after she tried to blame Ambien for tweeting it...to which the makers of Ambien quickly released a statement that racist tweeting isn't really one of the side effects...lol. You can't make this shit up. If you are going to tweet that a black woman is an APE...at least man up and take responsibility for it when you are called out.

(...although there is speculation the show may be renamed Dan and continue without her...)

And somehow Trump even managed to make THIS about him.

Go figure.

Then, not to be outdone, Samantha Bee used "feckless cunt" to describe Ivanka Trump.

(...sigh...she later admitted it was way out of line and apologized...probably while The Donald was still looking up "feckless"...but it still doesn't make it right...)

Crazy.

It's not a contest, folks.

23 days later Melania is still MIA...if she has any sense she will reappear sporting a huge smile and a divorce lawyer.

Only 157 more days until the Midterm Elections.

Yes...that IS my Happy Thought.

Enjoy Your Weekend!
