Yesterday and last night with Emma's (re-scheduled) Mad Hatter Tea and Slumber Party.
It was WONDERFUL!
Everybody got to choose their own mismatched tea cup at the beginning.
Nicole did all the face-painting!
And most of the hair...
Catching a bunch of pre-teens all in one spot is impossible! That seats around the table were like musical chairs.
Luckily, Nicki got a line up shot before the "Night Tea Party and The Traditional Smooshing of the Cake"...and "Whipped Cream Eating Event" (no hands allowed).
As the sun began to set the Tea Party took on a magical quality with the tiny fairy lights, paper flowers and balloons dipped in home-made confetti and glitter. By the time the sun was set they positively sparkled!
James helped provide live entertainment...and was the pizza chef!
Then came time for the "Cake Smoosh"
Yep...as I said before
Soon it was chaos. Everyone participated. Some willingly. Some...er...less than willingly, but still laughing.
The natural progression, of course, was The Whipped Cream Event.
The Slumber Party settling in with back to back Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. They brought the fairy lights, balloons and paper flowers in to decorate Emma's Room for their night of Stay Awake Until You DROP..face it...nobody actually sleeps at slumber parties.
Nicki says they all started the day with MORE CAKE...and apologizes (with an evil grin) to all the parents in advance...lol!
