Today's virtual foray, as we come nearing the conclusion of Queensland, is one of Australia's largest and best know theme parks
DREAMWORLD
A bit Disneyish...only you will be met by Belinda and Kenny instead of Mickey and Minnie. Oh...and did I mention they are Koalas?
Smaller...a lot like King's Island (right down to the Whitewater Rapids ride and the Waterpark, Splat-Park and Steam Train (Dreamworld Express).
Dreamworld also has a zoo on the grounds (much like Disneyworld) and an Australian version of a pioneer village.
And food, events and shopping.
A little something for everyone!
Built in 1974 on 210 acres it opened in December 1981. The brain-child of Tony Longhurst.
Today it features over 40 rides including 5 rollercoasters. The zoo. A waterpark. An IMAX. Sunset Safaris.
In 2011 it added Dreamworks characters and films.
In October they added a terrifying maze known as Zombie Evilution with lazertag.
A themed children/toddler area is based on The Wiggles (a successful AU children's programme) called Wiggles World. It has The Big Red Car Ride and Dorothy's Rosy Tea Cups.
And the home of the Motocoaster...the only motorcycle/VR rollercoaster in the world!
