Zen Weekend...Sofi is Home...& Other March Madness

Sofi is home.

Our little Pride is back together.

James brought her back Tuesday along with this:

Which is amazing stuff! While it can't completely fix her bowel problems, obviously, it has greatly improved/reduced them.

Good for her...and me.

Did some research on the brand and realized they make this in many different formulas for a myriad of different problems.

May be getting their hairball formula for Shelby.

No prescription necessary...available from many sources.  I will be ordering from Chewy.com

https://www.chewy.com/brands/hills-6874

The first night back she was pretty reserved...and stayed fairly close. A bit traumatized by the (unfamiliar to her) four dog, several cats, three kids, hustle bustle environment...and a lot of time spent crated. In only two weeks time her hock developed a small open area I am treating topically.

A little thinner, but none the worse for wear.

A warm bath, some Feliway Spray, and she was feeling much better.

She hadn't forgotten her exhaust vent, either.

She slept beneath my chin that night.

But this is the moment I knew everything was going to be okay...

When she quietly brought me her ring (hair tie) to resume our Endless
Game of Fetch.

Life is good, and things are right with our World again.

Enjoyed a visit and late night chat with Chris this week.

Happy and excited discussing his Registration and before long the
cumulation of all his hard work and Cisco training. Soon he will begin his life-long Career in Tech (with placement). So proud of him for working so hard toward his goal.

Finished with the factory now.

Talked about seeing another student doing some hands-on work and said

"These ARE my people, Mom."

Tina has recently completed her "Pooh" painting

Chris has turned her on to WarHammer and bought her a starter set
of Orcs to assemble and paint.

Amber and I have discussed it and we are planning a trip out to see Loretta soon.  She is doing well...and Idgy and I have a surprise for her. Being a bag lady and all. We have a Vera Bradley summer bag (new with tags) that Idgy acquired through her shoppe and we are shipping it this week!
She will absolutely plotz.

Her eyes are greatly improved...which has been a real source of concern for her.

Diane returns from Orlando next week and she and Brenda, Judy and I have a late Marti Gras party planned together with Beignets, Etouffee, Shrimp Po' Boys, Homemade Pralines and  Black Beans and Rice with Peppers (and maybe Hurricanes)

Also only days until John and I and our March Getaway.

Can't wait!

We have The Breakfast Co. that is opening here, and are going to experience it for the first time together before heading off on our adventure!

His fur-baby Gizmo endorsing Temptations Catnip Fever Treats

I have to try Shelby on these. Treats with real catnip.

Kitty Edibles.

Greencastle is now home to several new businesses. The most recent is Gordman's Department Store. I haven't been yet...but Bill, my driver, says they have a little bit of everything.

Soon.

Finally stopped vacillating on my dress and am going with the Pearl Blue one and will be ordering it next week...also flats and a lace clutch.

Chris and Tina have almost all the wedding arrangements made now...and I think Aiden is going to be the ring-bearer.

He and Emma Gene will be too cute. A couple of five year olds as ring bearer and flower girl.

Already Emma has asked why

"...can't we bring  Bennie and Neville (their rat terriers) and instead of throwing flowers I can toss pepperoni..."

Hey...it sounded pretty wonderful to me!

I'm sure the "grand-puppies" would approve as well.

Planning the Spring and Summer Borders and Patio.

And the end table is covered with Plant Porn...lol!

The movie this week:

A nice feel good kind of film.

Not War and Peace or anything deep and meaningful...just warm and fuzzy. Sometimes poignant and sometimes funny. Just a whole lot of feel-good tied up in one fairly predictable bundle.

Not a must see...but it will make you smile.

This Week's book:

You can almost hear her saying

"And that's a GOOD THING!"

Very nice compilation of To Do things. Beautifully illustrated and easy instructions. Gleaned a lot of great ideas!

If you want to know how to do something around the house or garden...it is probably in here!

Informative.

The weather and roads have been a lot like this

"I'll never let go, Jack"

But there is HOPE.  Spring Proper in just 11 days and they promise up to 60 degrees by the end of the week!

and your reminder to Spring forward an hour tonight...at 2 AM begins daylight savings time.

Ben Franklin screwing time up since 1784.

I NEED this clock.

And Politics...

OMFG...

And God may well be involved at this point...with Trump's most recent trip to Alabama after the tornadoes there killed 23.

(..could not make this up...)

Where Trump was busy handing out food and clothing for the victims....no no...he was Signing Bibles.

"You see, Joe Bob, if you had just prayed a little harder God might not have blown away the trailer..."

For the record, I'm betting a few of these show up on eBay soon.

It has been a dumpster fire politically for the past few weeks.

Stone violated his gag order in the first week...was hauled back in...given enough rope to hang himself in the form of a second more stringent gag order which he violated in days...

Yes...it seems Roger has the RIGHT to remain silent...but like Ron White...he does not have the Ability.

Bless his heart.

Expecting to see him jailed to await trial soon.

Paul Manafort has now been sentenced in his first trial. The guidelines suggested
19-25 years.  Mueller suggested the maximum.

Ellis gave him a little less than 4.

Citing that up to this time he had lived a blameless and generous life.

(...well except for that tax evasion, fraud, witness tampering, lying under oath, stealing funds...you know the CRIMES he was charged with...)

It is easy to be blameless when you haven't been caught...and generous when it isn't your money.

Just saying.

Yeah.....47 months hard time.

(eyeroll)

But he has another sentencing before a much less lenient and understanding judge for other crimes soon...which could provide up to 10 years extra if she should decide that he will serve her sentencing after the 47 months is up.

He could conceivably be around 85 before he is released.

I would be good with that.

I hope Trump was worth it.

and Michael Cohen shook things up a bit more with his Congressional Hearings by bringing several Samsonite Luggage trunks full of....well...as the kids call them today...

The Receipts.

Michael has been disbarred, by-the-way...and he is a convicted felon now and will be going to prison soon...so he doesn't have a lot left to lose at this point.

Yeah....it is unraveling quickly.

Trump, of course, is doubling down and being more and more arrogant even as his party is beginning to splinter and distance themselves.

It is probably a great time to remind everyone it is only 611 days until the General Election.

Laugh all you want...it keeps me more or less sane, okay.

We need to keep The House.

Re-take The Senate.

Take BACK the Presidency.

All by voting BLUE....straight party ticket.

Let's FINISH this!

(...falling off my soapbox...)

"Hey...you okay down there????"
