Chris' 30th Birthday...Sisters Day Bonfire...and Cats- Lost and Found

Slowly recovered after Tina and Chad's Bonfire Extravaganza this Saturday.

It was wonderful and a great turnout...with Tina and Chad, Chris, Tina and I, Stacia, Serena and Family, David, Charleen and Family, Toesha, CJ and all the kids, And, of course, all the critters...

(....Koi and chickens and a rooster...and ferrets...and tropical fish...and cats...and Australian Shepherds and a Chihuahua...oh my...)

Chad fixed an entire Turkey over a charcoal grill...and we all  brought enough sides for a small army.

It was amazing.

It was also late...so late...too late for me.

Crashed and Burned.

Not realizing how late it would be I failed to bring my meds with me.

We left at midnight and didn't make it back here until after 1:30 AM.

I appreciate Chris for getting my seriously in-a-mess self back home.

Sunday was pretty much a lost day for me.

Almost back to normal today.

Still, I'm glad we went...although next time John and I may find a place to stay nearby and leave (like my brother did) around 9...stating

"...you know 9 is the NEW midnight...right?"

lol!

 Chris is now 30!

And he has had Birthday Celebrations all week!!!!

He and Tina.

Don and I.

Trevor and Kyle.

Connie and Kim and Emma.

James and Nicole and the kids.

One long week of Happy 30th!!!!

His Fall Classes resume next week with Cybersecurity.

James and Nicole took the kids to the St. Louis ZOO...which Aiden thought was pretty outstanding!

And James got a new buddy (who was unceremoniously dumped at his house)

Meet J. Franco.

Who really needs to learn how to RELAX!

And a sad note when we lost our beautiful Gizmo last week.

Hoping against hope that the pain/problem that showed up was only a kidney stone or some such...

The vet examined her and she had a huge inoperable tumor inside her bladder. She had to be euthanized.

John stayed with her until she was gone. At least she died in no more pain, and knowing to the very last moment she was sooooooooooooooooo loved.

We both miss her so much very much.

Managed to finish the Virtual Appalachian Trail at Katahdin last week...after 5 months.

Took it slowly...state by state...got to see everything!

Now I just have to finish off my painting of The Bly Oak.

Deciding to add a blazed close up of a pine tree in the very foreground on the right side.

And have my 2190 Hikers Necklace on its way!

The Book this Week:

Chris and Tina finished the audio of this...must listen to it soon.

I read the book, and it is impossible not to read it in his voice.

Amazing look at an incredible man and his life.

Excellent read.

This Week's Movie:

 Outstanding sequel.

Great CGI with all the Moor Folk & Fairies.

 Maleficent finally finds her tribe!

Aurora (BEASTIE) finds her true love.

The Queen is a beast and gets her comeuppance.

And a happy ending!

Who could ask for more.

You'll want to see this...a little dark for anyone under about 8 or 9 though.

The Texas Gathering was this Weekend and Susan sent pictures including the class photo...

Texas XX-2019

Impossible to believe that 10 years have passed already!

And so many gone forever now.

sigh

And way too much politics to tag to the end of this...maybe tomorrow...because it has been a strange week politically!!!

More Anon...

And a quick note to add we (The Colts) bested the Texans on Sunday...and we are now #1 in our Division!

Yay!!!!
