Heraklion and The Palace of Knossos

Heraklion is the Administrative Capital and the largest city on Crete. The most popular attaction in Heraklion is the Minoan Palace of Knossos.the Palace of King Mino..discovered in 1900 by British archaeologists. The Palace dates back to The Bronze Age.

September temperatures here average 71 degrees, and less than 1 inch of rainfall making it a perfect time to explore Knossos.

Knossos was founded in the Bronze Age c. 1300-1100 BC. The Palace was the political and ceremonial center of the Minoan civilization, with workrooms, storerooms and living quarters close to the central square.
